Worst hotel ever… I booked a room through Priceline. $156, I asked if she could cancel it and give me refund.. so she did and then said she never got the money, so I contacted Priceline and they said I couldn’t cancel it… the hotel refused to allow me to stay for my booking because she canceled it and Priceline wouldn’t give me the money because she wasn’t supposed to cancel it… DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO STAY HERE!! They probably got bedbugs!

The location right on the beach with oceanfront rooms was great, and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly. However, the rest leaves something to be desired. Our room was decently clean. I've had worse but I've also had better. The biggest issue was that the beds were sunken in on one side. It seems a lot of guests sit in the same spot on the bed (right next to the outlet probably using their phones). This leaves a sunken spot on both beds such that they are not flat or comfortable. I woke up with bad back pain from those beds. We also had roaches in our bathroom both nights and rude neighbors who cooked food at 12:30 am. While I acknowledge the neighbors is not the fault of the hotel, they need better insulation on the adjoining rooms. We didn't enjoy the smell of rancid oil starting at 12:30am that took over an hour to dissipate.

Rude receptionist, A/C unit in LR did not work, waited until check in to inform us. Dining chair cushions cracked and peeling. No more complimentary bikes and on site restaurant closed. We stayed here many times in the last 15 years, while under the Capps family ownership. It is now corporate owned and will never stay again.

3 years ago this place was so friendly and nice THEN...new owners! Nobody greets you, one elevator that's sooo hot only to step into the hallway that's hotter than outside, closed the gate to the boardwalk ya have to walk around front, they closed the kitchen, took out the wash/dry machines, I could go on but it was very disappointing!

We were pleasantly surprised on the accommodations and how friendly the staff was after reading some negative reviews.
The location was perfect for me and my family. My daughter was not feeling well the gentleman at the front desk went the extra mile to help her and my family.
Breakers Resort inn staff thank you so much for caring.

The place is SUPER outdated. The whole floor reeked of marijuana. Nothing was clean. All the halls were hot as heck. The kitchen sink wouldnt get hot amd the showet water wouldnt get cool. The efficiency rooms have bare minimum to cook (5 knives and no forks or spoons) and be comfortable with. Shower curtain broken. Beds sucked. The night staff was awful. The parking spaces dont even fit a fullsize vehicle. The free coffee was autobrew and the cups were.too small for what dispensed, the lids didnt fit and they had NO sugar. And the pool was sooooooo small and packed. I gave it 2 stars because... why not? The location and view.were.spot.on. But its honestly not worth the stay.

We stayed at the Breakers for two nights. It’s a little old but well cared for. We enjoyed our stay . The staff was wonderful. I want to give a shout out to the front desk the Hispanic man who I forgot his name was awesome. Thanks for taking care of of us

I read some of the negative reviews before we stayed at this place hoping they were wrong but it turns out they were right. The only good thing about this hotel is it was right on the boardwalk. Staff was exceptionally unfriendly and unwilling to help. Every front desk person we encountered acted like they didn’t care about us staying in their hotel. Hallways were extremely hot and hotel was just overall dirty. Our bed mattress sunk in on the ends and we had to beg the front desk to get any extra towels (not for beach use) and shampoo - they don’t give guests any conditioner - which they told us “no” but we lucked out and the cleaning service happened to be next door to us so we were able to get some from them and exchange out our dirty towels. Could never use the pool because it was always jammed-packed with kids. The one elevator in the hotel was always in use and very slow. They offer “free coffee” in the mornings but it was disgusting. No other amenities offered so it’s way overpriced. Worst place I have stayed in a long time and was not worth what we paid. Highly, highly recommend to not stay here as there are plenty of other hotels on the boardwalk that offer way better amenities, customer service, and cleanliness.

Worst beach hotel experience ever!

The room was old and smelly. It has this kind of residual stale smoking smell. The bathroom was not clean when we arrived. Asked the front desk to change but they won't budge. I developed headache while staying there.
Although it is close the beach with an ocean view, the amenities are non-existent.

We booked three nights there and our family suffered two nights. We eventually left earlier and forfeit the third night.

The 3-star status and good Google reviews are Misleading!!!

Capes is my favorite place to stay when I'm oceanfront. Secure, clean and staff is always wonderful and helpful. The bonus is the restaurant attached to the hotel. The food is always spot on and convenient. Thank you for always taking such good care of me!

The room was nice and clean, beautiful ocean view, quiet relaxing stay. A beautifully decorated coffee station room off of the reception area. The staff and receptionist were all very helpful and friendly, we have stayed there the last two summer vacations and plan on staying at the Capes for future stays, there is a large pool room with a nice restaurant on bottom floor, The hotel is centrally located on the boardwalk between the pier and Neptune statue. Easy walk to shops and restaurants with more than adequate parking free to guests. Wifi. Enjoyed our stay!! By: Lorna B

We stayed here Thursday to Sunday in August. The location of hotel and staff are great. The view of the ocean was beautiful. We had a king suite. Living room and bedroom. Vicki worked all over the hotel and was so wonderful. We seen her escorting vehicles to another lot, cleaning the pool. Cleaning outside and running the front desk. She is an awesome employee for The Capes!! The one thing that I didn’t like was how crowded the beach gets in front of the hotel. If you don’t set up at 7 am you are not getting a good spot.

Bathroom had mold all over it (vent wasn’t working probably why) pillow had something on it. The view is great and staff was nice. Parking was pain neck they have a very small lot so you might get parked across street. It is slightly outdated and dingy in areas but for 160 a night (because a lot booking discounts) it wasn’t to bad, The restaurant in the hotel is very good, decent prices and great food. (Thought I could add photos I do have photos)

The rooms are more motel-y than we thought but we enjoyed the tub and the ocean view. The bedroom was clean.
There is a parking spot for each room.

I wouldn't recommend using the hotel pool as the room is very runned down and looks dirty.

The hotel is right in front of the beach and in a very convenient position with stores, restaurants, mini golf... everything is walking distance.

I came to this hotel with a confirmed reservation from a booking agent. As I arrive the room they gave me was not like the one I reserved. Rooms were all sold out. But the Manager Stacy Darla went out of her way and helped us accommodate all family. The front desk lady Lori was great, Stacy was so nice. Ideal location at the ocean front.

Staff has been sweet. Hotel is 30 years past expiration date. Elevator was working about 50% of the time, and that’s a lot of stairs.
Service at the beach restaurant was great - very kind, and the food was cheap and portions huge.
Biggest disappointment was amenities. Check out on Sunday by 11, and the pool doesn’t open until 12?? Absolutely no legitimate reason - apparently ‘chemicals need time to circulate’. I run a 500,000 gallon pool that closes between 9pm and 4 am, and your 30,000 gallon pool has to close for 15 hours overnight?? Ridiculous. We have all had too much sun, and we’re leaving early on Sunday morning instead of enjoying the rest of our holiday. Maybe that was the intention, but at $400 a night for a room with two full beds, having to leaving early is just rude.

The location is what you pay for here. The beds are a step above sleeping on the ground. The pillows are about half an inch thick. The sheets don't have anything close to a fresh smell to them. There was already hair on the bed and in the shower. Staff is friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. It gets the job done for a few days.

Staff very friendly and personable. I was greeted by name upon check in. Reasonable rates, great location. Room was clean and tidy and the balcony was very nice. The bed was too firm for me but, this was the only thing that wasn’t perfect about my stay. We will book again on our next trip.
