In town for the Phillies vs Pirates game. Checked in around 6 pm room 106 jacuzzi room. First found a small machine in the corner (ended up being an air ionizer). Took my sandals off and the carpet felt kind of damp. We turned on the air, unpacked and rested after a lot of driving today. About a hour and half into our stay I started feeling like I couldn’t breathe. Thought it was “just me” and my excitement to be here and planning our morning. I waited about 10 minutes of feeling this when I mentioned it to my husband. He had also started coughing a bit (also had thought it was bc of weather). Thats when we realized its moisture possibly mold in the room. It made sense because I’m allergic to mold and it could send me into an asthma attack (which I do not even have). So we proceeded to the front desk as and talked with Shaquanda (hope that is spelled correctly). She listened and was very empathetic, kind and helpful, resolving the issue quickly with a change of rooms. THANK YOU SHAQUANDA!!! I had to spend some time outside in fresh air and bought a primatine mist inhaler to start getting relief. We returned and we are in the new room and everything is fine. Please take care of your room 106, there is some dangerous issues going on there!

Front desk clerk not very friendly. Room had a musty smell, couch had a big tear in the cushion, bed very hard, our son's room on the second floor had a terrible cigarette smell which you could smell as soon as you got off the elevator. For the price was a major disappointment after just staying in a Holiday Inn Express in Ohio for about half the price and everything there was perfect.

Rooms were spotless.
Breakfast was included and good.
18-minute drive from Acrisure stadium.
The cleaning lady was extremely helpful and kind.

I don't think the girls at the front desk enjoyed their jobs. There was an older gentleman who had gone to the wrong hotel and was trying to figure out where he was supposed to be. They were being extremely short with him when I walked in.

We asked the front desk where the closest restaurant was (phone had died), and she said the vending machines in the hall.

All in all bed was comfortable room was clean, shower had awesome water pressure, grounds were clean.

Upon entering our room there was an oder of mildew. I check our room and there was black mold on the curtains. A dead stink bug on the our AC and Heating unit. Yellow stain on our mattress. White stains on our couch in the room. 3 remote controls for a tv but none of them work to turn the cable on. I had to manually do it from the tv to turn on the cable then I was able to use the cable remote for the cable. Not to mention just a very noisy area a lot of traffic outside but that wasn’t a big deal. I know this is a cheaper hotel but cleanliness and the simple things like a working TV remote to navigate the television is all we ask.

We stayed here for one night and had two rooms. One of the rooms was fine and had no issues reported by our family members staying there. The other room, however, was where I stayed and the problems were ABUNDANT.

From the moment I walked in the room, I could tell it wasn’t very clean. The floors were sticky and the whole room smelled very strongly of some kind of cleaner or pesticide. Everything was just very run down and dingy, cup rings on all the furniture and the curtains had a very large amount of dirt and dust up near the top. There was dust and loose change in the dresser drawers as well. The shower head was so dirty I didn’t even dare to take a shower.

Our room (first floor, room 113) was advertised as having two sofa beds but only had one, which wasn’t a huge issue as we only needed one of them. We went to make up the bed and found no bedding in the room for it and we were only given 3 king sized sheets when we asked the front desk for the bedding. No pillows, no blanket. I sent my partner back to the desk to ask for a pillow and blanket and he came back with a pillow but said they had no blankets. I found this to be quite unacceptable for a hotel that has sofa beds and advertises them.

We left for a few hours and came back in the evening to find bed bugs in our room, and upon looking closely at the mattress, it was clear they had been present previously and for quite some time. I understand bed bugs happen in hotels but for the mattress to be in THAT condition and without so much as a mattress protector on it, I was completely disgusted. This amounts to negligence on management and ownership’s part.

I went to the front desk, where another woman who was very upset was speaking with the woman behind the counter and she showed me a picture of a heroin needle she found in her young daughter’s bed that had been left from a previous guest, which tells me that they also don’t change the bedding after each guest as they should.

We ultimately got switched to another room that was a different type up on the 3rd floor. No apology or any other kind of offer to make the situation right. While there were no bed bugs visibly present upon close inspection of our new room, it was still rather run down and unclean. Upon checking the sofa bed in that room, there was stuff under the cushions from previous guests that looked to be a tooth brush and other things that I didn’t bother to take a closer look at before deciding we wouldn’t be using that.

The only reason we didn’t run from this place to another hotel is that we prepaid through a 3rd party website and I didn’t have the time or extra money to put a whole new set of rooms on my card on the evening of my sons birthday.

To management: I have seen your responses to other reviews where you seem to pass the responsibility on to your employees. As someone who has worked in management, including hotels, for over 15 years, this is more than an employee problem. Your employees exist in the culture that YOU foster, and if you are not setting and enforcing standards properly things like this happen. You also need to massively invest in updating/improving your property so your employees can take pride in making the rooms look and feel good and your guests can feel comfortable and welcome. We did not feel that at ALL.

It pains me to leave a review like this. I love the autograph collection line of hotels. But, it seems they took on too much with this project. The building is dated, and you can tell even though it is a new hotel. Service was pretty decent, but again, not what you'd expect from this line. Overall disappointed. If I paid about $150 less than what I did, I'd be happy.

The building is very cool and they did a nice job converting it to a nice hotel without losing the original charm and history of the building. Room was great, but we were upgraded, so I can't speak to the standard room. Restaurant breakfast was great. The area is typical for downtown Pittsburgh... 🤷‍♂️

We used the hotel for a wedding block where we had a welcome party, got ready, after party, and breakfast. They went above and beyond to make sure everything went well and if any hiccup happened their team was on it immediately. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and it is rare to see a team this dedicated to making your stay perfect. They made every request happen and Dionna was incredible. She was always a phone call away, super responsive, and organized. I will definitely recommend the breakfast it was absolutely incredible and everyone raved about how good the food was. We definitely will be staying at the hotel again because we had such an incredible experience. We even had a treat waiting in our room after the wedding. If you want a smooth and accommodating hotel you definitely have to give them a call.

Had an amazing time staying at this hotel with my fiancé. This was my first time in Pittsburgh and Brittany and her staff delivered 5 star service, was extremely accommodating and made us feel at home. The story behind the hotel, the location and the architecture are amazing. Also the gym is great!

Will be back!

I believe the overall experience could have been significantly better. The hotel does have a great location—it's conveniently close to Market Square, Point State Park, and the Strip District. However, the condition of the hotel itself was below expectations. On the very first night, the bathroom door came off and never closed properly. The window curtains were also broken, making it impossible to block out the early morning sunlight, which affected my sleep. Additionally, the body wash dispenser ran out while I was showering. Parking was another hassle, with limited options available. The hotel lacked several basic amenities. There wasn’t even 24-hour access to coffee, water, or ice—something I would expect as standard, especially from a Marriott Autograph Collection property. Overall, I was highly disappointed with my stay. For a brand that carries the Marriott name, I expected much more in terms of quality, service, and amenities.
