Very clean & well-maintained hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is not new, but is as clean as new. Friendly & helpful staff. You can walk downtown, to the shops & marina. The office & parking lot for a ferry is the next business over. Behind the hotel is a Mexican restaurant, and a long-standing hot dog place. The only drawback was that the contractor cut corners on the sound-proofing. I will stay again.

Place is very organized I thought and super helpful and friendly staff . We stayed for the Labor Day bridge walk and they had a small selection for breakfast up for us walkers which everyone really liked . Though they did promptly shut it down at 10am . So if you planned on eating breakfast when you were done you better walk fast! 😜. Rooms are clean and have everything you would expect a hotel in Mackinaw to have. Thank you Wyndham and staff you guys rocked it

Hotel was clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and prompt. Our suite was clean and cozy. Room was cleaned appropriately prior to our arrival. Bed was comfortable! Pool and hot tub area was clean. Hot tub was perfect temperature. Many parking spots available, even though it was labor day and the town was flooded with people for the bridge walk. Within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on Mackinacs strip. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location do walk to the ferry as well as the local attractions. When I arrived the Inn smelled fresh and clean. Our room was extremely clean as well as the halls and sitting areas. Staff were present and helpful when needed. Highly recommend Baymont by Wyndham in Mackinaw City.

Hotel was great! Very clean and comfortable. We eat very healthy so being able to bring some of our own food and drinks was important. Mini fridge was large enough and microwave worked well. 10 min walk to the pier or shuttle was very convenient. Price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place! Super clean, lovely service, comfy quiet room with everything you'd need including a fridge and microwave. Amazing breakfast with DIY waffles, plus the other basics (eggs, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, baked goods). Not super extravagant but if you're here you're here to visit other places, and everything is a short walk. Also across the street from the ferry shuttle. All the staff I interacted with were incredibly kind and helpful. Will absolutely come back here next time I'm in town!

The rooms are clean and don't smell at all, but they could use an update. The front desk service is very dry in personalities. No one smiles, asks how you like the rooms or grounds, ask you if you're having a nice vacation or even thanking you for choosing them. They were FIRM on not letting you in your before 4:00. It just seemed like the employees didn't want to be there or cared that you were there. I specifically asked if the hotel is walking distance to the ships. I was your yes it is.... No it's not. If you want to get your steps in, then yes. Would not stay here again

Stay here for the access to the beach. It's all about location. The picture is from our room. Small bathrooms. The mini fridge is nice. Old rooms for sure. The owners aren't putting any effort into updates. If you want a nice hotel room along with the view and beach access, stay at a different place.

After looking for hotels in Mackinaw City Best Western Dockside had the highest star rating at 3.9. I booked it through a third party booking agency. Best Western Dockside really exceeded my expectations. I give it a Five Star. The staff is great. The cleaning staff are friendly and courteous. We had all the towels and washcloths we needed. The best part of this hotel is it’s only half a mile from downtown and a quarter mile from Shepler’s Ferry which runs to/from Mackinac Island. We walked whenever we wanted to go eat, shopping and the day we went to the island because it saved us money on parking. One other advantage this hotel has is its own beach right behind the hotel on Lake Huron. We stayed in a room with a balcony that overlooked the lake and it was perfect for drinking coffee every morning.

Overall, dreadful hotel experience.

The hotel was outdated, not very clean, not very comfortable, and all of our staff encounters were very rude.
I did not feel welcome at all when we checked in, they did not look at me the entire time, did not explain any of the amenities or even give the breakfast schedule or location. I had to find the room on the map on the counter.
The room was not nice for what we paid, especially compared to other places we have stayed. The sink is about a foot away from the end of the counter, which makes it impossible for a small child to wash their hands and brush their teeth as well as my 8-month pregnant self to try to lean over to it.
I didn't notice until we were already getting settled but the bathtub was not properly cleaned, there was hair on the floor in the corner of the room, and the sink was grimy. The beds at least appeared clean but they were terribly uncomfortable, we were up tossing and turning every hour. We didn't notice until our second night but the room had no smoke detector. There was a small humidifier running that beeped loudly when it needed us to empty it.
They advertised cheaper ferry rates so we went to the desk to purchase tickets and the lady there was so rude about it, she just printed the tickets and told me the price and I told her no I'll buy them at the ferry since that is the same price and she tried to tell me she had to charge me since she already printed them. When we asked her why she printed them without telling us the price, she just got huffy and told us nevermind I'll take care of it. Never told us about the different ferry companies or where they were at, no customer service at all.
When we checked out, we told them that the room was missing the smoke detector and they were so rude about it; they asked 'well did you let us know that it was missing?'. We shouldn't have to look for it, it is fire code. Every interaction with their staff was negative.
The vending machines did not work and the prices were expensive anyway.
The breakfast was terrible, we didn't even end up going to get it our second morning there.
At least the beach access was nice but there is easy access for anyone to go there, you definitely do not need to be staying at the hotel in order to get to the beach, which we saw a lot of.
Even the city offerings have gone downhill since we were last there in 2017, so many cheaper, crappy $14.99 and less t-shirt stores than any kind of local offerings and artsy stores. At least the island was still nice.
