We overall had a nice stay at Starfish Manor. There were a few things of note that could have been better!
- clearly water damage on the ceiling right above our bed. Had a smell and such an eyesore for spending $300 a night.
- no a/c, and no fan in the bathroom or any way of getting the air to move. We had to resort to keeping the sliding door open (no screen) and still couldn’t get the room below 75 degrees, which is too warm for us to sleep comfortably.
- very few close parking spots and no direct beach access from the property itself, just more walking which normally would be fine but I am 8.5 months pregnant 🙂
Overall we still had a nice time and enjoyed the views and the jetted tub! Would still stay here again and hopefully get a nicer room!

This was our 4th time staying at this hotel and it will be the last time. We’ve recommended this place to other people and now regret doing that. Staff was not very friendly when checking in. The mattress was terribly uncomfortable, didn’t get any sleep and now my back hurts! Worthless little coffeemaker in the room and no coffee creamer. They gave us some old room that was outside the main building next to the maintenance room. The WiFi doesn’t work in this area of the property so I called the front desk and they didn’t care. I brought my laptop and was planning to work from my room. They said I could come back to the lobby and use the guest office area but I wanted to have WiFi in my room. If you know that the WiFi doesn’t work in that area, maybe you should fix it. Anyway, the point is if your guest calls the front desk don’t be rude and try to care a little bit. How do you run a hotel like this? You lost a customer permanently.

I was highly disappointed with what my significant other and I experienced staying here. We paid a lot of money for a busy weekend and the room was not up to par. As soon as we walked in there was a puddle of water on the balcony that we could not enjoy. We called maintenance and they never came. The toilet was not caulked down so everytime we used it, it just swayed back and forth. The jet tub was dripping hot water constantly. For the price we paid, not happy about our experience.

I never give 1 star but I have to warn people. It's like paying for a lottery ticket. You may get an amazing room with balcony and ocean view and well kept or you may get no balcony, no ocean view and half the space with a smaller bed - for the same price. It's the luck of the draw and you won't find out until you get there. First time we went we thought this would be our favorite coast hotel. But it's first come first serve they say so our 2nd and 3rd time experiences were not good (lower ADU is bad). It's not worth paying a price and then finding out the room you get is not what you thought you were paying for. They can't charge the same price for the lower rooms. It's bad business. I'd avoid the lottery at this place and find a place that gives you the kind of room they charge you for.

Most comfortable room and bed quality in my 30 days of travel between Washington state, Oregon and northern California. Room 104, oceanfront. Bliss.

Fantastic view of the beach, and the room we rented had a nice balcony where we sat and sipped our morning coffee to the ocean waves. There is beach access just a block south...like 2 min walk to the stairs down. Highly recommend as a getaway.

This is our second time staying with Starfish Manor. Front Desk staff were wonderful and smiling. We forgot our room card one night as soon as we were headed to the beach. Tina was happy to get us a new one ASAP.

Room was clean, quiet, the view was perfect on our 3rd floor balcony, jetted tub really worked well, we never turned on the fireplace (its August), and we were provided lots of good towels and robes for our stay. We had a box fan we slept with as well, it was in our closet. So that was much appreciated.

I will say, call or use their website to book your stay. I made our reservation through Booking.com without checking their own site rates. It was over $240 cheaper for this same room and weekend, on their website. Don't Make my mistake. We came for his birthday weekend, and he is worth it. So we enjoyed our weekend together. Got lucky with the weather.

Free parking here, so we just enjoyed walking down to everything. So much fun. We will probably be back a third time sometime.

This is a quiet, perfectly located establishment at a reasonable price, for what you get. Starting from the warm welcome by the Front Desk Clerk, "Gavin", I believe, to the Amazing room with an indoor jacuzzi with the most amazing ocean view! Get the Romance Package for awesome decor of roses and much much more. We absolutely loved our night and watching the sunset over the ocean while chilin in the jacuzzi was epic! The room was clean and perfect! We highly recommend and will be a continuous visitor. Thank you Starfish Manor for an amazing stay!

Romantic hot tub room at a good price. One big king and sofa with a tub. But the room is only for 2 people if you have a child you have to change 2 beds. The hotel isn't allowed to sleep on the sofa in the hot tub king room. No offer late check out. The room has a nice and quiet ocean view . I think for this good price that might be the hotel is too strict with check in and out rules if you compare to hotels around areas where more flexible.

Came from WA - 7 hour drive. Came to explore and be by ocean - we have only lakes and mountains; nothing like the ocean. My best friend and I came to get some R & R. Everything was amazing! Loved being oceanside and being able to stare at it. Rooms were beautiful. Loved the tub. Only complaint was beds were hard (different for everyone). 💯 would stay again. Got a great deal on price and felt very blessed to be able to stay in a place like this hotel. (Quiet hours 9pm - 9am & no children under 12).

The only selling point this hotel has is that its oceanfront & some of the rooms have hot tubs, (mind you the hot tubs are not cleaned.) Aside from that, this hotel is a dump. The employees are lazy & won’t supply necessary accommodations like toilet paper or towels, the rooms aren’t clean, there’s no AC, & the majority of fireplaces don’t work.
This hotel is grossly overpriced for the actual experience you receive after checking in.
Also good luck getting your luggage up & down multiple flights of stairs.

So the property was fine. Most of the issues were normal on the coast; doors that stick and sand everywhere. The toliet was broken, but was fixed while we went to dinner. The issue was the staff's respone, "Hope maitance hasnt clocked out." The bathroom and front door stuck bad enough I needed help opening them. There were a lot of stairs that were steep so I struggled being disabled, which had to be walked every time you needed something because there was no phone in the room and the walk from my room to get towels was about 4,000 steps for me each day. The biggest problem came with their lying at what we got. I paid for a room that had a private hot tub on the balcony. What we got was a jacuzzi tub next to the bed. When I asked why the response was "that's what you get for booking on Expedia. The photos do not match what you pay for.

Location wise it was perfect including the views. The rooms however were not unkept. Bed sheets were not changed and the mattress cover was full of hair and boldly fluids as well as the bed frame. We asked for new sheets- the gal in the front was snarky. We had to go to the front office to get new towels after requesting to have room service. We placed bedsheets outside for them to be picked up thursday night and they were not picked up til sunday night- the night before we left.

August 9,2025 we checked in but the room is like your in a prison its so hot no ac and suffocating, its a 2 queen bed the other side has no window the other side of the bed has a window but we couldnt open it bcoz its not safe as we have 2 kids also the room is so dark .So i asked the lady if they can move us to a different room but she said no other room available so she told me that we can check out and refund my money back. We were so exhausted we drove back home for 3 hrs bcoz all the hotels were not available its all fully booked. Today august 11,2025 i checked my bank acount yes they refunded me the $307.76 but they charge me again same amount and i called the hotel and the lady that i spoke so rude and wont give me her name. She deny that they didnt charge me so i called my bank and the bank confirm it that the hotel charge me again the amount of $307.76 so bank is going to do a dispute. I called the hotel again that my bank confirm the charge and the lady that i talked deny it again and so rude keep saying that they didnt charge me and she said ok just file a dispute. The people that work there are so rude, room like a prison, dirty,so discusting and not safe for the kids.the location is good but not safe for the kids or older people. Will never come back!!

I arrived weary from traveling but excited for the stay at such a beautiful looking hotel, but I was disappointed by the attitude of the front desk attendant. She was unfriendly and not well kept. The room was beautiful and clean but I ran out of toilet paper on the toilet and there was no spare roll. While looking for more, I noticed there was no coffee (only decaf). I called the front desk to ask for toilet paper and coffee to be brought to my room but was rudely told no, no sorry, no nothing and it would be ready for me to pick up at the front desk...there was no friendliness or compassion for running out of toilet paper on the toilet then having to get cleaned up and go get it myself. RUDE!
The fireplace didn't work and there was no one to help with that either.
In the morning there were grinds in the first pot of coffee that I made...didn't think much of it until I made another pot and it had grinds in it too. I checked the filter basket and someone before me emptied the grinds from the pouch into the filter basket and it wasn't cleaned out. That was absolutely disgusting!
I was hoping for some communication regarding these issues in the link to review the hotel directly through the hotel but it went unanswered.
Overall, I loved the room and the location but for the money you pay to stay I expected higher standards.

This hotel has so much potential. The views were amazing, the room that we got had a hot tub on the deck and that made it super enjoyable. Even though the view and location was nice, there were a few things that could use attention. Our toilet didn’t flush well, when we brought it up to the front desk, the response was “yeah all of our toilets are like that”. It wasn’t something that really affected our trip but frustrating when you pay so much money for a hotel. The rooms were clean to a certain extent but the shower had soap scum all over the bottom of it, there was thick layers of dust on the headboard, lamps, phone, and outlets, and dead bugs smashed into the curtains. When using the shower, no matter how you angled the shower head, you had to be very careful to make sure that the water wasn’t pooling out onto the floor through the gap in the shower door (this was honestly probably the most frustrating part). I’m sure I’m not the first one to complain about these things, I think this hotel could get an easy 5 stars if they would work on a few of the smaller details.

Nice rooms except no thermostat control and our room was very hot. Also yes it beach front but it's on a hill so it's n I t a walk out to the beach, it's around the building down 3 flights of stairs. Not kid friendly. Very loud. Only one towel and wash cloth for a king bed room with 2 guests. Kind of snarky when I asked for more. Overall it was OK but expensive for what you got.

The staff when arriving was friendly. I enjoy the location of this room and the views from the balcony. I liked the balcony furniture and enjoyed the hot tub. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. There were 2 hairs in the bathroom and I didn't care much about that. However when I used the towel to dry off there was more hair and it got on my body. I was grossed out to say the least. When I checked out the next morning I informed the front desk clerk. They just said okay and smiled. Not a I'm sorry, or I understand, or I'll let the team know so we can fix that, or let me comp you $20.00 for that inconvenience. From these reviews I hope they get the cleaning together the location is really nice.
