Things were good at the casino as far as the rooms and eating at the sports bar but the machines are so tight couldn't hit nothing had to go to Harrah's and wound up doing all right there
I can definitely say that in this casino is the type that will drain your bank account. Came in from out of state and honestly these slots were complete trash. They like to tout their winning percentage when you walk through the door Honestly though that's pretty fraudulent save your money. Better options elsewhere
Love this place! We’ve visited twice now and had a blast both times—not to mention hitting large jackpots on each visit! The casino is spacious, lively, and offers plenty of fun things to do beyond just the slots and tables.
The hotel was clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the linens were fresh. We also really enjoyed the food—great flavors and solid service across the board.
If I had to nitpick, the towels were a bit rough… though we joked they doubled as a nice exfoliator. A quick wipe-down of the glass around the lobby—mirrors, doors, and railings—would take the polish up a notch. Still, overall, a great experience and one we’re happy to recommend!
I enjoyed my stay here but there were a few things that I didn’t like. First, the location… I know it’s due to regulations that they have to be so far. It is what it is. Secondly, the casino was totally dead on a Friday and Saturday night. This place is a ghost town. Not many great food options either there was a bar and grill, and a Mexican place that had less than average quality food for a premium. There was some restaurant located inside of train cars but it was closed both nights Friday and Saturday. It makes me wonder if it’s ever open, you would think weekend dinner time would be busy. I would not recommend staying with kids since there’s not much for them to do and it’s so far from everything. The rooms were very nice and clean.
Disappointed First-Time Casino Hotel Experience – Will Not Be Returning
My daughter and I recently stayed at this hotel from 7/8–7/10 during our trip to Kansas City for Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun. Neither of us had ever stayed at a casino hotel before, so we were excited and hopeful for a fun, elevated experience. Unfortunately, the stay left us extremely disappointed.
We arrived Tuesday around 4:15 PM after a long day at the amusement park. I had read online that valet parking was available, and since I was traveling alone with my 10-year-old daughter, I thought it would make the experience easier. We pulled into the valet lane expecting some assistance—no one came. There were no signs directing where hotel guests should go if valet was unavailable, so I ended up circling around and eventually parked in the hotel drop-off lane myself.
No one greeted us. No one offered to help with our luggage or even hold the door, despite clearly seeing a mom and child juggling bags. When I approached the front desk to check in and gave my name (Lindsay Sargent), the front desk agent immediately questioned the credit card on file because it was under my husband’s name. I explained we booked the room through the hotel’s own website and used our shared card for points. I offered my own ID and a valid card with my name, but her attitude was cold and dismissive. She barely spoke a word, didn’t welcome us, didn’t provide any helpful information about the stay—not even the fact that we needed our room key to access the elevator.
Day two wasn’t much better. After being gone all day Wednesday, we returned around 5 PM to find that housekeeping had not cleaned our room. I had to track down towels and cups myself.
For the price we paid, I expected at the very least basic hospitality and professionalism. This experience was anything but. The service was cold, unhelpful, and made us feel like a burden rather than welcomed guests.
If my daughter hadn’t been with me, I would have shared all of this in person at the front desk—but frankly, I didn’t want to ruin her evening.
This was our first and last stay with any Boyd Gaming-affiliated property. Save your money and choose a hotel that still values the customer experience.
My experience at this casino hotel was far from enjoyable. From the moment I walked in, the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke made the entire place feel like an ashtray. The room was a letdown, the carpet was dirty, the towels felt like sandpaper, and the baseboards looked like they hadn’t been dusted in months. Basic amenities were missing, including a microwave and even proper blankets.
The location wasn’t ideal, and parking for hotel guests was poorly managed and incredibly inconvenient. As for the service, it was lackluster at best. Staff seemed disengaged and uninterested in helping.
I expected a much higher standard for the price and setting. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning or recommending this property to anyone. Save yourself the disappointment, find another casino in KC!
This hotel need major updates and fixes. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Rooms are old and not good AC. Only good part is the access to the interstate. This location does not live uo yo the Embassy Suites name.
Stayed with a friend who was in town. Rooms are big and have a nice kitchenette. Nice towels and amenities. Bed was comfortable, pillows not so much. Hotel seems to be run down in my opinion. Landscaping is mostly weeds. Parking is available and the lot was full.
2 of our conference participants had cleaning issues with their rooms, but was finally rectified. Other than that… the service staff was excellent and had all of our needs met. I especially want to commend Emine for his diligent service in serving our meals and snacks!
Our conference wouldn’t have been such a success without the assistance of Kellie Lacy in Sales….. She is top-notch and the Embassy Suites is fortunate to have such a professional staff member!!!
Overall, we enjoyed our five-night stay. We were here for a baseball tournament, and the room was clean, the amenities were nice, and we especially enjoyed ES signature made-to-order breakfast and happy hour with free drinks every night. All the employees we encountered were super friendly, especially the bar crew during happy hour. Shoutout to Brian he was top notch!
I will say, this place is older. It definitely could use a renovation, as the rooms are especially showing their age. However, everything was clean and well maintained so I have no complaints. I’d be curious to find out when they are planning to renovate this hotel.
Overall, we had a great stay and we’d definitely come back if we find ourselves in the area again.
Our stay at the Hilton Embassy Suites near the Kansas City Airport was fantastic from start to finish. Booking, check-in, and check-out were all a breeze. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful especially the front desk woman who let us borrow her fan when we forgot ours!
The room was spotless and surprisingly homey, making it feel more like a mini apartment than a hotel. You can really tell they care about cleanliness and comfort here. If you’re looking for a clean, cozy, and welcoming place near the airport, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel—everything from the rooms to the service exceeded our expectations.
One standout experience was breakfast each morning, thanks to Andrew, the omelette chef. He did a fabulous job! Andrew was incredibly efficient, friendly, and professional, even during the busiest rush. He handled the high volume with ease and still managed to make perfectly cooked, delicious omelettes. It was clear he takes pride in what he does, and he made our mornings extra enjoyable. Kudos to Andrew for starting our days off right!
