This place served sour milk in their continental breakfast in the morning their staff is under trained, not knowing that in the rooms it says they will provide rubber bath mats. If asked at the front desk they act like they’re being inconvenienced when asked for anything rooms were not tidy or well capped if you’re looking for a decent place to stay this is not it.

To be honest, I was a little worried because of previous reviews. Nothing to worry, NO BUGS as one reviewer stated. We stayed on the 3rd floor King suite it is Spacious and has a balcony with beach view. They can use some updating but overall a pleasant stay.
Right next to the Movie theater, bowling alley and a miniature golf course. It is also walking distance to the beach and a few restaurants.
Less than 5 minutes to Moody gardens and Palm beach.
Thank you for the hospitality.

Was a little bit on reserve about the rooms because of the ratings. But it turned out to be a very nice hotel. We stayed there for one night because we were going on a cruise the next day we were able to park our cars for $20 to stay while we were on the cruise. They had a shuttle that picked us up and brought us back to the hotel. Great place to stay if you’re going on a cruise close to Port rooms were very nice and spacious. We had an ocean view room.

First off, we paid almost $300 for this room for ONE NIGHT.. so we figured it would be just fine.. but It was a TOTAL roach motel.. they come out at night 🤮 the bed my CHILDREN WERE SUPPOSED TO SLEEP ON was disgusting! Looked like someone urinated all over the bed. I went to the front and let them know TWICE, once as soon as I saw the bed, they offered a MATTRESS TOPPER! I took it since it was so late and we were exhausted. Iet the kids have the other bed in the room. I slept on the disgusting one. Then again I let them know how disgusted and disappointed I was at check out.. and they told me if I had concerns I could LEAVE A REVIEW! So here it is! Absolutely disgusting. The property is a mess. Trash all over the place, property isn’t taken care of at all! There were WET spots all up and down the halls.. I can’t even begin to imagine what that possibly was. Someone needs to bulldoze this building and start fresh. Cause this ain’t it! 👏

I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the other reviews. The lobby did have a slight musty smell but the rooms didn’t smell at all! However, I am so glad we decided to give it a try! The staff was super helpful and very nice! The rooms and whole facility was clean. The pool and hot tub were well kept even with the summer rush of people. We had planned only 2 nights but we had such a wonderful time we decided to extend our stay. The owner was very nice and helped make it work for us. The breakfast was fresh and hot, and everything was clean and organized. They did say they will be updating the hotel over the next 4-6 months. The hotel is a little dated, scratches on furniture and little things but everything was clean! I’m excited to see the improvements on our next trip.

I booked this hotel based on strong reviews from a major travel site (7.8/10 with 248 reviews), but the condition of the property did not match what was advertised. The exterior was in poor shape, with faded and by stained stucco, mildew along the lower walls. Several lighting fixtures were broken or missing.

Inside, the lobby furniture was heavily worn. The chairs had scratched frames and flat, tired cushions. The public restroom had exposed plumbing under repair, covered in plastic, and there was a strong urine smell, likely coming from the open pipes. A police notice was posted at the entrance, warning of prosecution under Power of Attorney, which made the atmosphere feel uneasy.

The front desk staff was very polite and understanding. They handled my concerns professionally and helped me cancel the reservation without issue. I chose not to stay, as the overall condition of the property gave me serious concerns. Travelers should be aware that the hotel may not look like the pictures posted online.

The biggest problem is the hotel is in Galveston. Well I feel bad writing this because anything with a beach should be spectacular; but, the town itself is so run down and so sadly lacking off beauty. That being said, the hotel is nice, think starting to get a bit tired but the location is right across from the beach. The service and people are very nice. Spa treatments were amazing.

So this had been my second stay this year, and I believe it will be my last. Don’t judge a book by its cover. While you have a grand entrance that is beautify decorated, and the front desk treats you great. But once you step into those horrible elevators and into your room. It’s like a completely different hotel. Very run down, outdated, and not maintained. The room smelled musty, the plugs were hanging from the wall. It look like a dog had chewed on all the legs of the furniture. The bathroom light constantly flickered on and off. Not to mean the bed is hard as a rock. And this is VIP might I add. This used to be my favorite hotel in Galveston, but with the lack of concern from management and the money I paid to stay in slum hotel, I will not be staying here anymore.

We’ve been to Galveston many times, and this time decided to stay at what is widely considered the best beach resort in Texas. First impressions were good. The bell service, lobby, and front desk experience were great. It’s a beautiful setting and the lobby decor is well done. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great, and many restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive. You can’t get any closer to the beach. Parking was easy and I saw security driving around constantly, which I appreciated.

Unfortunately for the price we paid for our stay, I don’t think the hotel met our expectations. We’ve stayed in luxury beach hotels all over the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico, and this property doesn’t compare favorably to any of those. We entered an elevator to go to our 6th floor room and immediately noticed that the elevator door was damaged and scraping along the inside of the elevator wall every time it opened and closed. The room itself was fine, but extremely dark and poorly lit. We had a nice view of the water, and the room was spacious. The bathroom, which was very cramped, showed evidence of delayed maintenance and you could tell it hadn’t been renovated or updated in quite a while. The water pressure was so good that I had to ratchet it down so it wasn’t a sandblasting, which is an experience I have never had in a hotel. There was no vent in the bathroom, which in a humid environment like Galveston is not ideal, and only one hook and bar to hang towels, which is just insufficient for a 4 person capacity room. But we slept fine and the beds were comfortable enough. For a beachfront hotel, I was surprised to not see a drying line in the bathroom, so we dried suits out on the balcony. We went two days without housekeeping service, and so I had to call more than once for towels and toilet paper, but they were brought up promptly.

My biggest complaint about this hotel may seem relatively minor, but having traveled extensively I can say that I’ve never had this issue before anywhere else. There simply were not enough umbrellas at the pool. The pool itself was very nice and the swim up bar was great. But no matter the time of day, there were never more than 2 or 3 umbrellas available for guests anywhere at the pool — unless you forked over $800 for a cabana. All of the other umbrellas were reserved for cabana guests. I was so annoyed by this that it completely ruined my experience. In Texas, asking hotel guests to bake under the sun in August with inadequate shade is damn near a crime in my opinion. This simple failure to invest in umbrellas made it impossible to enjoy the pool for any extended length of time, and the whole reason I booked this hotel over other options was to enjoy the lovely pool. We were also given conflicting quotes for cabana rental, being told the price was $200 but then informed by another staff member that it was only a special promotion price that was no longer available and were told it would be $800. All of this left me feeling like the shortage of umbrellas was an intentional money grab at an already pricey hotel to force guests to purchase cabanas to access basic shade from the sun.

Long story short: the hotel was mostly fine, but overpriced given the overall experience, and we won’t be back.

Very nice place to stay. The facility was clean the staff was very friendly the food was delicious and comparable in price to local restaurants. The cost for self parking seemed kind of high. The pool area was very nice kept clean the wait staff around the pool was readily available and you could order pretty much every thing on the restaurant menu at the pool. A nice place to relax. All rooms have a great view of the beach.

We had a great time staying at this resort in Galveston, Texas. The property is very well maintained, and the staff was truly amazing—friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. The location is perfect, right across from the beach, which made it super convenient to enjoy the ocean anytime.

The restaurant and pool options were solid, with a good variety to keep both adults and kids happy. We especially appreciated the outdoor pool being open late into the night—a relaxing way to end the day under the stars.

While the rooms are a bit old-fashioned in style, they were still comfortable and clean, which worked just fine for us. Also, shoutout to the maintenance team—they were quick and efficient whenever we needed anything.

Overall, this resort offers great value, excellent service, and a prime location. Would definitely recommend for a laid-back beach getaway!

We had amazing experience staying at San Luis for a conference week. Services are great. We really enjoyed the outdoor pool in the hotel. They even provided warm water so that we were able to get into the water in April to enjoy the pool side bar.

Room service is quick and easy. Food was incredibly good too. The steak we ordered was tender and juicy. Will come back for more vacations with friends and family. Highly recommended.
